The Breakers

After an extremely hot morning in Plymouth, we decided to drive to Newport, where the temperature was 15-20 degrees cooler, to spend the rest of the day. When we arrived, it was much cooler and breezy — a welcome break from the oven-like weather in Massachusetts. We dodged an afternoon of storms in Plymouth too.

We started our afternoon by touring The Breakers mansion. It was ostentatious and obscenely opulent, if you’re into that kind of thing. The view was breathtaking!
